AVL Beer Week: Celebrating 14 Years of Craft, Community & Culture
Asheville Beer Week is back for its 14th year, and there’s never been a more important time to rally behind the local craft beer industry. Asheville has long been celebrated as “Beer City USA,” a title earned through our brewers’ passion, creativity, and dedication. But behind every pint poured is a business that depends on our community, both locals and visitors, to keep the taps flowing.
This year, AVL Beer Week isn’t just about celebrating beer; it’s about supporting the industry that has become a cornerstone of Asheville’s economy and culture. With over 50 breweries in the area, each bringing their own unique style, flavors, and innovations, this week-long event is a chance to experience the craft, meet the makers, and most importantly, show up for the people who keep this industry thriving.
The Importance of Showing Up
“The Asheville Brewers Alliance remains a potent economic driver here in the Asheville Metro,” shared Clark Duncan, Executive Director for the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County. “Beyond supporting over 3,500 households with direct and indirect employment, the brewing industry has a measurable purchasing power supporting retail trade, hospitality, agriculture, and logistics employment across Asheville and Western North Carolina.”
This impact goes beyond just the breweries themselves. The craft beer industry fuels local agriculture, small businesses, transportation, and tourism. Without continued support, the very identity of Asheville as a craft beer destination is at risk. That’s why this year’s AVL Beer Week is not just a celebration—it’s a call to action.

Events You Don’t Want to Miss
One of the highlights of AVL Beer Week is The Love of Craft, an event that truly embodies the spirit of our brewing community. This isn’t just a beer festival—it’s a gathering of passionate brewers, craft beer lovers, and those who appreciate the artistry that goes into every pour. Attendees can enjoy exclusive small-batch releases, meet the brewers behind their favorite beers, and immerse themselves in Asheville’s legendary craft culture.
In addition to The Love of Craft, breweries across the city will be hosting tap takeovers, beer dinners, collaboration releases, live music, and special tastings. Whether you’re a hop head, a sour lover, or just someone who enjoys a crisp lager, there’s something for everyone.
Support Your Local Breweries—Every Pint Counts
Beyond the events, one of the best ways to support AVL Beer Week is simply by visiting the taprooms. Many of Asheville’s breweries are small, independent businesses that rely on direct community support. Whether it’s grabbing a pint, picking up a four-pack, or bringing friends to your favorite spot, every visit helps keep the doors open and the kegs full.

AVL Beer Week is more than just an annual tradition—it’s a vital moment to recognize and uplift the industry that helps make Asheville the vibrant, creative city we love. So grab your friends, raise a glass, and show your support for the breweries that help define Beer City USA.
